About

Hello, and welcome to my blog!

Allow me to introduce myself. My name is not Tim.

But I am a man, and I called this blog Truth Injected, and since Truth-Injected Man doesn’t really roll off the tongue, let’s use Tim.

Now, before you call me a keyboard warrior who wants to bask in the anonymity of a pseudonym, or a paranoid little shit who thinks the world will come after me if they know my name, I’ll beat you to it. That’s exactly why I’m going by Tim.

But I have a valid reason for it.

I have one rule for myself throughout my blog-writing. One rule only.

Be absolutely honest from the depths of my heart at all times.

Seems fair enough, right? Well… I think so. But some people don’t have the objectivity to see these things for what they are. The Internet is a wild place, and I expect to attract haters. It’s part of the game.

Some of the topics, ideas and perspectives that I will be sharing with you are perceived as controversial, even dangerous, by some narrow-minded people.

Now, I don’t care if people call me mean words on the Internet. I don’t care if people call me mean words in real life. I’m used to it – it’s not that bad!

But you need to understand that I am presently in the beginning stages of my journey to the summit. Writing a regular blog is a new concept to me, and it’s something that I am only just exploring at the time of writing.

For now, I still need my “real-world” career so that I can eat and pay my bills. And if I’m being completely honest about everything, and relaying perspectives and ideas that are viewed as controversial, and further still, that I become an avatar for those ideas in the online community, that could be a “career-limiting move”.

Don’t get me wrong – I’m not supporting any fascist dictators who are in exile in South America or anything. But sometimes just saying that certain societal ideologies are bullshit is enough to get you sacked. It’s just the world that we live in where speech is not free, certain people are not allowed to have certain opinions, and ideological outliers are vilified.

I’m not clinging to my anonymity for dear life, though. If my real name gets out there, I’ll deal with it. Maybe it will be an opportunity to grow stronger, but it isn’t something I’d opt for at this stage.

So, why write this blog at all?

There are three reasons for this blog existing.

First and foremost, I want to help myself. Writing is both cathartic and insightful for me. As a dominant left-brainer, writing these articles helps me to understand what I believe and offers me new perspectives. Sometimes seeing the insides of your brain glaring back at you from the screen so viscerally can be enlightening.

The self-discovery is immense. There are both ugly and beautiful things in there that I didn’t know existed until I started writing.

My secondary objective is to help you. I was listening to a podcast from one of my favourite mentors who tackled the question of passion.

The classic: “What makes you want to get out of bed in the morning?”

As cheesy as it sounds, the idea of touching hundreds, thousands, or MILLIONS of lives with the ideas that I offer inspires me. You there, reading this post. Yes, you! Offering a new perspective to you that changes your life is what motivates me. I will serve you as well as I can.

Thirdly, It would be awesome to make a living from this someday. If I can help others enough that my supporters, my backers, my audience, YOU just can’t get enough, I’ll gladly do this full-time and say goodbye to working in a cubicle. In fact, I’m sitting in it now, writing this for you.

But that’s why it’s third on the list. If I can make a living from it someday, cool. If not, I’m not going to stop.

There are a few things that I need from you.

First of all, I need you to keep an open mind and see things objectively. Sometimes we get so invested in our own beliefs and opinions that we identify with them. We think that is who we are. So when someone challenges that idea, we see it as a challenge to our essence – to our soul. This is the mentality that leads to religious wars, and other conflicts that are based on ideology. So leave your immovable beliefs at the door, please.

You will only hurt yourself if you can’t do that. Because I will call out bullshit if you spout it. I will upset those who don’t want to awaken. I will tickle your funny bone every now and then. That’s just part of growth and keeping my promise of always being honest.

But I will never attack an individual.

Secondly, I need you to be prepared to put these ideas into practice. It’s no good just reading fuzzy narratives on the Internet that make you feel good. You need to take action and apply what is applicable and resourceful to you. I can light the fire under your ass, but I can’t take action for you.

Finally, I need your feedback and questions. I have always learned from throwing ideas out there. Don’t be afraid to challenge my ideas and perspectives – I welcome it! I don’t take it personally, as I am not emotionally invested in my beliefs. They are fluid, and if your perspective resonates more strongly with me than my own, I will probably discard my own. Some would call me an ideology whore, but I prefer to think of it as being liberated from cognitive dissonance and all the anxiety that brings.

I’m on this journey as well, and I see my audience collectively as a mentor. This is your service to me – to help me to grow stronger to help others to grow stronger.

Let’s dance together.

-Tim
