Blog Update #3 – Tim, Are You Still Alive?

We hit a pretty major milestone here at TruthInjected this week.

We now have over 100 subscribers!

So before I get into what is happening with the site, I want to express a massive thank you to all who have subscribed. When a site is in its beginning stages like TruthInjected has been over the past few years, having a loyal base of readers and subscribers helps the site more than anything else, so once again, thank you!

For those who have been messaging me, yes, I am still alive. I took a break from writing for the past few months to figure out a few other things that are going on in my life.

But Tim is back and writing again.

What’s happening with the site over the next few months?

After what has admittedly been a pretty slow year in terms of new content, I am now going to be following a schedule to smooth the boom-and-bust cycles of content that many of you have noticed in the past. It’s no secret that I’m a fairly black and white kind of guy, so when I am in the writing mode, I can write several articles a day.

And when I’m not in the zone? Well, nothing gets written.

So as I move into a new cycle of writing, I am going to be building up an arsenal of articles, but rather than publishing them all in the space of a few days, I’ll be following a more disciplined posting schedule.

This means I will be aiming to post articles 2-3 times a week. Expect new posts on Tuesdays and Thursdays NZ time (probably Monday and Wednesday your time, if you are in the northern hemisphere), and I’ll look to publish bonus articles on Saturdays.

I have a few topics that I want to explore in more detail than I can reasonably do in one post. I will therefore be writing some multi-part features that will aim to dive deeper into some topics that I have already published, and some new topics altogether.

As always, I’m interested to know what topics you enjoy reading the most. I’m still covering quite a spectrum, as you will be able to tell from the front page. We have social commentary, detailed analysis of specific news events, and the more traditional self-improvement and “motivational” posts that TI was originally founded to publish.

My inclination is to focus more heavily on what TI was originally set up to be, which is more focused on you as a reader, rather than the externalities of world events. Of course, my eccentricity can’t always be contained, so you can still expect to see some articles that break the mould, but I will be keeping these to more of a minimum.

I’m also considering launching a TruthInjected forum / message board to foster the community, give you a place to meet each other (and me, of course), and enable you to discuss pretty much anything. It may be a bit too soon at the moment, but it is certainly on the horizon for 2019.

Let me know in the comments what sort of content you would like to see, and what your thoughts are on a TI forum.

I’m still figuring out how to make TruthInjected a viable job rather than a hobby

When I launched TruthInjected back in 2016, it was always my goal to ultimately make this site my full-time job. To date, I have paid more to host the site than I have made from it, so in a sense, TI is a commercial failure.

BUT! (it’s a big but, and I cannot lie)

The site is about a lot more than making money. My primary reasons for publishing TruthInjected are the same as they were in 2016 – to help myself, to help you, and to help you to help others. And so for those reasons alone, TruthInjected has been a success. I have received a lot of messages of support from readers who appreciate what I am publishing here, and that is worth more than the bottom line of the site.

Having said that, if I can write for TruthInjected as my job instead of my hobby, I will be creating a LOT more content, which will have a greater impact on a wider audience, and to do that, I need your support.

And to that end, I will be launching a TruthInjected Patreon in the near future, with bonus content and special access for those who are willing to go the extra mile to drive TI into the future.

But it’s not just about giving me your money – you would be supporting the whole TI community by enabling more content at a higher level of quality.

Nothing is concrete at this stage, but some of the patron-only perks I have been considering are:

  • Access to exclusive patron-only content, including audio versions of posts, patron-only posts, and detailed courses to walk you through several of the self-improvement topics that are covered at a higher level on TruthInjected.
  • Early access / free access to TruthInjected e-books (yes, they are coming).
  • A weekly / monthly patron-only Q&A Skype call, where you can ask me questions about anything, or just chew me out for not posting as much as I should be.
  • 1-1 coaching over Skype, if you want my advice on your personal circumstances and you would not be comfortable with them being published to the wider TI community.

How can you help?

Please strongly consider donating to the Patreon when it’s launched. It will never be mandatory, and the site will always have free content for those who cannot or choose not to donate. But your help will really help to take TruthInjected to the next level, so any support that you can offer would be awesome. Please also let me know which perks you would value the most as a patron – even if they aren’t listed above, and I will do whatever I can to make them happen.

Let me know what content you want to see more of. As I outlined above, I have some ideas of where I want to take the site, but ultimately, this site is here to benefit you, the reader. So post in the comments what matters most to you, as we head towards the fourth calendar year of TI.

Don’t forget to share the posts that you enjoy the most with your friends and family. Each post has social media buttons to make it as easy as possible to share the posts that helped you with the people that you want to help.

Once again, thanks for all of your support. Let’s keep pushing ourselves, each other and our community to greater heights.

To leveling up.

-Tim
